Croakies Terra Spec Adjustable Sport Eyewear Retainer
The Croakies brand was born in the mountains of Jackson, Wyoming, in 1977, when a local ski patrolman from the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort came up with an idea for an eyewear retainer that would grip his shades through all kinds of alpine adventures. Using an old wetsuit, some sharp scissors, and good old American ingenuity, he made the first pair of eyewear retainers.
The ingenious device was based on the design of a Chinese finger trap and quickly became a hit with all of the patrollers. The nickname "croakies" was used by the Jackson Hole ski patrol when they couldn't think of a word to describe the new invention, and the name finally stuck.
Today, Croakies continues to call the mountains home, thanks to a robust manufacturing facility in Bozeman, Montana.
